What if your job gave you this sense of achievement?

Hiya,

In the video below Prof Tim Noakes superb TED Talk explains the importance of the right Mindset (and of getting the right coach) if you want to achieve anything.

He explains how Roger Bannister became the first person in history to break the four minute mile even though there were better athletes around at the time.

Often we’d like to achieve something via the work we do, but most think of that as a pipe dream. If you are dissatisfied with your job at the moment it may well be down to the way you are thinking about it. However, if you hate it and want to find a new job or career – one that you’d be excited about every morning, that would give you a sense of fulfillment and purpose, read my f.ree eBook ‘Do You Hate Your Job?‘ before you do anything else.

You can get a copy of it simply by leaving your details here.

Enjoy

Stu

PS: In the book you’ll also find details about my own ‘Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life‘ 90 Day Program which goes ‘Live’ in another few days.

What’s the cost of staying in your job?

Hiya,

If you’ve been following my recent posts, talking about whether you can stay in your present job or career or whether you may be better suited to getting out – then take a moment to consider the cost of doing nothing.

If you just stay where you are and you just keep doing what you’ve been doing. Not trying to fall back in love with it, not trying to recraft it into something more enjoyable – but just staying exactly where you are, it will cost you in the long run.

These are the three main areas where doing nothing will cost you:

  • Emotionally
  • Financially
  • Opportunity cost

EmotionallyHow I Identified I Was In The Wrong Job  will give you some clues to how you might be feeling right now and how you’re going to continue to feel if you do nothing about it. Anger, frustration, feeling stuck, chest pains etc. etc. It doesn’t get any better unless YOU change something. What’s the cost to your health and well being?

Financially – for me I was almost instantly better off when I made the change I needed. That may not be the case for everyone, but the question I asked myself at the time was: ‘Can I survive with less?’ When I decided I could, it made it easier to make the change – and that’s when opportunity raised its head. What’s the potential cost to your pocket?

Opportunity cost – I would never have known what opportunities were available to me if I had just put my head back in the sand, and I certainly wouldn’t be enjoying the lifestyle I have today. If you don’t put your head over the parapet you’ll never see what lies beyond the fortress walls. You have to consider the opportunities, look for them, recognise them when they show themselves and calculate the cost to you if you don’t seize them. What opportunity will you miss by staying as you are?

Hopefully you’ve spent the time necessary to create, separate and prioritise your opportunities list as mentioned in the last post How To Change Jobs (Step 3) . Those 5 top opportunities open to you, together with understanding the cost of doing nothing, should give you plenty to consider right now.

Mistakes

In my opinion, if you are in a job that you hate, or a company that you hate, then there are two mistakes you can make right now:

  • #1 Doing nothing
  • #2 Quiting before you understand what your options are

The next step is Deciding. This is the step that really set me on the path to my present lifestyle and circumstances. It seems daunting but in my next post I’m going to reveal how to make the decision process a whole lot easier.

Stay tuned

Take the opportunity to understand your WHY.

Hiya,

Do you understand your WHY?
I recently watched a presentation by Greg Habsritt where he talked about
how most companies market themselves based on ‘What‘ they do,
a smart minority market themselves on ‘How‘ they do what they do,
and a smarter, smaller minority market themselves on ‘Why‘ they do
what they do.
It got me thinking about my Why.
At the risk of sounding ‘schmaltzy’ – it really is because I want to
inspire as many people as I can to realise that they CAN do it, whatever
IT is, they just need to know HOW.
Why is that my why?Because I really believe that everybody has the potential to achieve their goals. (Yeah, yeah, blah, blah! – I hear you.)

But think about it – how many times have you heard of the rags to riches success stories? How many entrepreneurs left school early and went on to create massively successful companies? How many athletes overcame enormous odds and went on to fulfil their dream of winning a major competition?

If they did – You can.

My pet hate, something that really gets me grrr! and hits my challenge button – is people that make excuse after excuse for why they can’t do something.

I believe that every one of us has a passion, we have a purpose, and that passion and purpose when ignited, has the potential to not only change our lives, but the lives of all of those around us, all those that we know, and possibly the wider world.

I want to play a part in igniting those passions. I want to be the catalyst for as many people as I can. For those that think they don’t have the brains, or the looks, or the stamina, or the confidence, or the money, or the resources, or the network, or anything else – maybe you don’t, but that might not be what you need to reach your goal.

I believe we are all entitled to live our lives our way and achieve our dreams using our own personal skills, personality, resilience and gumption!

It’s why I took an entire year to write my book:

How To Change Your Life One Day At A Time‘.
It’s why I spent 6 months producing my 90 Day Program:
Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life‘.
It’s why I decided to GIVE that away, as a gift, to everybody that buys
a copy of the book during the launch.Together, the book and the program systematically change a person’s mindset into one that sees the possibilities, sees the opportunities, enabling them to believe that they can achieve their goals, their dreams and live more contented, purposeful, passionate, joyful, happy lives.

Am I going to get rich selling this book. Highly unlikely!

That’s not what it’s about. I already live an abundant lifestyle, I’m by no means rich but I do have certain freedoms earned by running my own business. And I value those freedoms. They give me the opportunity to follow my passion:- helping as many people as I can follow theirs.

So to recap:

My ‘What‘ – A book and complimentary program that’ll guide you to fulfil your potential. My ‘How‘ – By teaching you how to change the way you think and then giving you daily guides that will help you take inspired action. My ‘Why‘ – because I believe you CAN do it – you just need to learn HOW. And that gets me fired up in the morning!Come on, let’s all change the world in our own unique way!

Mark the 20th May on your calendar as launch day.

Take care

Stu
