Discover your hidden skills and talents (Part 2)

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 26th of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Hiya,

Last week I showed you how to discover your hidden skills and talents.

Today I want to put them in priority order…

I hope you took the opportunity to write a list of your labels – I really hope you had the chance to do that. It’s a busy time of year after all. If you managed it, today take a few minutes to put it in priority order. Find out what’s most important to you. It may surprise you.

Ensure you have added the labels you aspire to before you do this part. If there are any other labels you still want to collect, list them first before prioritising (this is soooo important, as the labels you’d like to have ARE your goals). This will enable you to see what goals are really important to you still.

Way back earlier in the year, I hope you did the Passion Test (July 30th) in order to get clear on this.

Now you have another opportunity to see if you still feel the same.

Enjoy

Stu

Tigers and how they help us understand meaning.

Hiya,

How the tiger can help us change the meaning of things.

How the tiger can help us change the meaning of things.

Discover your hidden skills and talents.

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 24th of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Take the opportunity today to consider all of your labels.

I don’t mean the ones in the back of your shirt or blouse. I mean the ones that you and other people tag you with; mum, wife, volunteer, colleague, writer, coach – whatever they are.

Write them all down, as many as you can think of. Ask, your spouse or your kids or your friends to help identify them for you if you need to.

This is a great way to discover your hidden skills and talents.

Once you have that list give it a read through. Understand what each of those labels mean to you and to everyone that knows you. Realise how connected you are through those labels. Realise how important you are to all of those people.

Now realise that you are not just those labels. You are any label you want to be. Consider what other labels you would like to be defined by: Champion Skydiver maybe? Successful Business Owner? Mover and Shaker in the field of [xyz]? Guitar Legend? Explorer?

You get the idea – you are unlimited.

Take the opportunity today to use your anger.

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 23rd of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At A Time’

Take the opportunity today to use your anger.

We all get angry from time to time and it’s generally regarded as a personality flaw. Well it’s NOT! It’s only a flaw if you allow it to become destructive.

Did you know you have all the answers?

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 22nd of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Take the opportunity today to use Napoleon Hill’s technique of Independent Council.

Napoleon Hill wrote the ground breaking book: ‘Think and Grow Rich’ back in the 1930s. It has subsequently become one of the foremost books to read for any successful entrepreneur.

Pretty much every millionaire businessman on the planet has read it and applied it’s philosophy. Yet you don’t need to be an entrepreneur to get immense value from it. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get more out of life in any area.

One of the techniques he advocates is seeking Independent Council. This is a mind technique of significant power. You must be able to turn off your ‘this is silly’ button, and turn on your ‘let’s pretend’ button instead. This will enable you to use this technique to tap into your own subconscious wisdom.

So, find somewhere comfortable and quiet. Relax for a few minutes until you are calm and a bit daydreamy. Now imagine a big oak panelled door on the other side of the room or maybe a big oak tree if you are outside.

Now imagine that anyone from history comes to join you through that door or from behind that tree. They sit with you, as many of them as you want. When they are all there – ask your question.

Something you are struggling with. Ask their advice and listen carefully to what they say. The wisdom your subconscious associates with those individuals will allow you to find the answer which they will voice.

Listen!

Enjoy

Possibly the quickest way to change your life.

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 17th of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Take the opportunity today to realise the universe is a ‘feeling’ mirror.

When I say that, I mean it reflects back what you put out.

The following exercise is possibly the quickest way to change your life.

If you put out fear, fear is reflected back on you. If you put out worry, worry is reflected back on you. If you put out love, kindness, understanding, compassion, trust, loyalty – guess what? They are the things reflected back on you.

So take a minute and ask yourself what you feel most days.

Then ask yourself, honestly, if that is what you are putting out in the world. If you think this is rubbish put it to the test. If you feel fear or worry or lack or hate or used or untrustful or resentful, consider reversing those feelings just for a day.

Trust people, no matter what. Be kind to people, no matter what. Forgive everyone of everything, no matter what. Imagine that everything you worry about is going to turn out just fine, no matter what. Decide not to be afraid of anything, no matter what. Just for today.

Do this as authentically as you possibly can, it’ll be hard, but do it. Then see how you feel tomorrow. If you noticed a difference, however small, do it again, and again.

Before you know it you may be feeling all of those positive feelings mentioned above because that is what you’ll then be putting out.

Enjoy

Want to know how to get in, and stay in, the zone?

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 15th of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Take the opportunity today to practice “The Process”.

Dave Austin is a ‘mental performance coach’ that has helped many of the world’s top athletes achieve extraordinary results. This is his 5 step system which he calls “The Process”- a method that gets his clients ‘in the zone’ and helps them to stay there longer.

1 – Appreciate nature close up, focus on three things in nature to appreciate; the bark of a tree, a blade of grass etc.

2 – Imagine yourself surrounded with white energy, see it as extremely positive and loving. Then imagine your family and friends surrounded with that white energy. Lastly imagine someone you don’t like or who you’ve had an argument with and surrounded them with white energy as well.

3 – Focus on what you’re grateful for and get into the powerful energy of gratitude.

4 – Visualize – walk through an imagined gate whilst thinking about all the things you’re grateful for – step into the beauty of nature that surrounds you in this place. Allow the feeling of amazement. Breathe in the positive and breathe out the negative.

5 – Creative Expression – step through another gate, one that leads to your ideal life. See yourself living that life, enjoying it fully. Once you are finished, walk back through both of your gates, open your eyes, then write your thoughts down – uncensored. Whatever comes, write it down.

Your mind will probably wander quite a bit the first few times you try this, but that’s ok. Keep practicing and enjoy what comes out of this experience. If you’ve gotten this far through the book, then none of the above will surprise you. As these are things that the world’s top coaches use effectively in business, sports and the areas of self-improvement and use in their day to day interactions with the best of the best in the world.

This is one way to solve any problem.

Stuart Young, London, UK

This is December 13th of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Take the opportunity today to dream a solution.

This is one way to solve any problem.

I’ve mentioned many times throughout my book the value of getting in touch with your subconscious, well this guide is about getting in touch with your unconscious.

Huh?

We all dream at night – whether we remember or not. It’s part of the brain’s process for gaining proper rest from the conscious waking hours. Through studies on sleep deprivation and other techniques it’s becoming more apparent that our unconscious is actually processing information whilst resting. We are able to actually tap into that processing if we just put the right programming in at the right time.

Tonight, just before you go to sleep, consider a problem or issue you are experiencing. Something that has you stumped. Then ask yourself to dream the solution. Start the request: ‘How can I…’ then fill in the blank. Repeat it a few times over and over.

EG: ‘How can I find a better job doing [xyz]?’ or, ‘How can I get motivated to [xyz]?’ or, ‘How can I find the right partner for me?’ etc.

You get the idea. Your mind will actually process this last command of the day and you may well dream the solution. Or the solution may come to you throughout the next day. Have a go and see what happens, I have certainly had some success applying this.

3 places I get inspiration…

Hiya,

Even though I count myself as a self motivated person and I have many strategies and tactics for staying on track with my goals (I should do – I wrote a book with 365 of them) – I still like to keep my ear to the ground about other inspirational and thought provoking ideas and concepts.

To that end I thought I’d share some sites that always give me a lift when I’m struggling:

http://www.positivityblog.com

http://www.dailygood.org

http://www.wakeupcloud.com/

Check them out some time – you’ll be glad you did.

Enjoy
