How to identify and question the thoughts that cause all the suffering in your life.

This is November 14th of my book:  ‘How To Change Your Life One Day At ATime‘.

Take the opportunity today to do The Work.

“The Work is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question the thoughts that cause all the suffering in the world. It’s a way to understand what’s hurting you, and to address the cause of your problems with clarity.”

That’s how The Work by Byron Katie is described on her website. It’s a process of identifying something that’s troubling you then asking four penetrating questions about it:

1. Is what you’re thinking true?

2. Can you absolutely know that it’s true?

3. How do you react, what happens, when you believe that thought?

4. Who would you be without that thought?

After answering these four key questions you turn them around. Each turn around is an opportunity to experience the opposite of what you originally believed.

My advice is for you to go to the website and investigate this further if you have any negative thoughts about any issue that holds you back in life. Maybe from your childhood, maybe hurt you feel someone has inflicted on you, maybe your own limiting thoughts about yourself.

Go to: http://www.thework.com/dothework.php then click on ‘Instructions for Doing The Work’ on the right hand side.

Enjoy
