Book full of coincidences!

Hiya,

Please bookmark this post.

Because I want you to come back here as and when coincidences start to happen for you too.

Here’s what happened yesterday Aug 28th:

Em came into my office (we work from home) and said: ‘Guess what, I have to go to London tomorrow to work.’

‘Uh-huh.’ I replied

‘Do you fancy meeting me after and we can go see a show?’ She offered.

‘Sure, ok.’ I replied

Later in the afternoon I got around to reading yesterday’s page (yes, I read my own book) – and the guide was – ‘Take the opportunity to go to a live event.

Now I know we’re going today – but how coincidental was that? Now here’s the thing, this happens ALL the time. Not only to us (I’ll share some more over the next few days) but also to other readers of the book that we know.

I’d love for you to share any coincidences in your life that you’ve noticed since reading the book – right here in the comments section below and hopefully we can build a hub of them for everyone to read.

Enjoy

The only favour I ask is that you write a review of it sometime.

Have you reached ‘Peak Life’ yet?

Hiya,

I was reading a blog post by Stephen Edwards earlier and this line in it inspired the question in the title: “The truth is I have probably lived more days than I’m going to live.

We’ve all heard of Peak Oil – it’s the point when we have burned more oil than is left in the ground, we’ve gone past the halfway mark – there’s less left than we’ve used. Trouble is, we’re using it faster every day so it won’t last as long as we’ve been using it already.

This is much like life – it goes faster the more we live it. The older we get the quicker it goes! So, just like the oil – one day we’re going to run out of life. The big question is – what are you going to do with what’s left?

365 days per year, how many days do we have left? Nobody knows, so let’s make each and every day a step towards who we really are, who we really want to be. Let’s show the world our unique selves, let’s offer the gift of ourselves to everyone.

Have you reached Peak Life yet?

Take the opportunity today to learn the Listen-Act-Trust Process.

Hiya,

I learnt this technique from Lisa Sasevich (the Queen of sales conversion and developer of the Invisible Close) whilst she was being interviewed by John Assaraf.

It stands for:

     Listen – to your intuition

Act – on what you feel, and

Trust – yourself and the action you are taking in response

This is great advice. All to often we allow our minds to get in the way and cast seeds of doubt over our plans. Apply this process daily to each and every circumstance that arises.

Bronze & Silver Medal Misery

Hiya,

The olympics 2012 is over!

Some world records were broken, many personal bests were smashed, and some athletes won the first medals their countries had ever received!

In amongst the celebrations though were others in misery as they failed to achieve any medals or even to get to the finals of their events. Others still, that achieved Bronze or even Silver and were miserable with that. A Women’s Korean Archer even won Gold and apologised to her country for doing it with a low mark of 8 – stating to the press that: ‘We don’t score 8s in Korea.’

This was quite surprising for me and got me thinking about expectations. We all have them, it’s what drives us forward, keeps us striving, helps us through the pain. But by being so attached to the outcome we rob ourselves of the joy of achieving anything less. How many athletes would have loved to go home with a Bronze medal but went back happy to take part but empty handed, as another came home miserable because they got a Bronze but went for a Gold.

Expectations are healthy, but being attached to the outcome is not – it is where suffering resides. Let’s be grateful for what we have, what we achieve and for the daily opportunity to do more. Let’s pursue our goals with vigour, determination and courage. But let’s also pat ourselves on the back for taking part, for taking on the challenge, for taking the risk – win, lose or draw.

Being happy can exist alongside dissatisfaction – that’s what makes us want to improve.

Take care and enjoy

Stu

Another coincidence in the book!

Hiya,

For all those that are readers of my book you’ll notice yet another coincidence in today’s page! I’m hearing about these coincidences happening in people’s lives all the time – at least a couple of times a week someone will tell me how a guide in the book coincided with something happening in their lives that day or the day before that the guide spoke about.

I love hearing about them so please continue emailing me or commenting your own experiences. You know what I think – a coincidence is your subconscious making you aware of something you should take notice of.

Today’s HUGE coincidence? You’ll have to get a book to find out. 🙂

Enjoy

I wanted to reblog this wonderful post from LittleBearDogBlog as I think we can all learn a lot from it…

The Little Bear Dog Blog

I watched Usain Bolt run the 200 meters last night. I’m not a huge sports fan but for some reason I like watching his races, a contradiction I found myself pondering in the wee small hours.

I think his appeal is his confidence. Not the arrogance and  stiltedness we often see from top sportspeople, but a more genuine, very human level of self-belief that makes people feel like they could still have a beer with him in the pub.

The Little Bear Olympics

While the race was happening we were having our own track event in the living room with Little Bear. It was more like the four meter scramble than the 200 meter sprint, but he was enjoying his nightly round of chase the tennis ball. Until that is, a mis-placed throw (I did say I’m not much of a sportswoman) landed it behind his toy box.

He knew…

Take the opportunity today to practice letting go.

Hiya,

Hale Dwoskin’s The Sedona Method, is a process of eliminating negative emotions by using a simple 5 step process. For instance, remember a time when you felt really angry (or some other negative emotion). Imagine the occurrence or circumstance you were in when you felt that emotion. Then ask yourself:

1. ‘Can I allow and welcome my [anger] to be here?’

then ask:

2. ‘Can I release or let go of this [anger]?

In the first two questions you are searching for permission to feel that emotion. Anger for instance, can be helpful. However, if you drill down into that feeling you might find that your anger makes you feel protected, strong or right about something. Delve into those feelings. Do they serve you? Maybe yes, maybe no. Either way, feelings are natural and should not be suppressed. Now you’ve got a hold of that emotion and are experiencing it in a controlled way, you can move on to examining the next questions:

3. ‘Would I let it go?’

then,

4. ‘When?’ These next two questions are designed to allow you to properly consider whether you can live without those feelings about that circum- stance. When you realise that you are in control of holding on or letting go – decide to let go.

The fifth step of the process is to Repeat the first four steps with any and every negative emotion you feel. As you become practiced at it you will be able to apply it while you actually feel negative emotions in the future – as they occur.
